Your First Consultation

What to expect on your first visit. When you make your appointment you will be sent an email which will contain some forms to complete, some basic instructions and the location of the practice.

Empowered health care starts with good communication, so we will start with a detailed history about you, your problems and your health goals. Added to this, physical and neurological examination, specific spinal and extremity assessment will take about 45 mins. 

All examination and treatment is performed with out interference of clothing. This is the most thorough way to get all the information we will require. We will supply a gown for you to wear and a private space to change to ensure modesty. 

If you present with a problem that is out of our scope of practice, we will advise you and guide you on the next course of action.

Once we correlate all the information we have gathered, we will discuss the findings and talk about a recommended plan of action. Sometimes there is a need to gather further information in the form of x-rays or scans and an appropriate referral is given. 

If you have any previous scans and X-rays it is a great idea to bring them to this first visit.

If you choose to proceed, treatment will begin provided no other assessment is required. The treatment is a very precise correction to the cause of the problem found in the examination. This is done gently and specifically, so there is much less ‘cracking’ than you may expect.

Along with the chiropractic treatment I will guide you to some lifestyle modifications that incorporate nutritional, exercise and wellness ideas to empower you on your health care journey.
